SSGS has awarded this year's grant for extracurricular activities to three master's students at the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science in Lund. We are happy to announce that Johanna, Lucija and Lasse will organize a guest lecture about wetland restoration on the 6th of May. We hope to see you there (sign-up required)!
Session description:
Wetlands represent an important, well-studied ecosystem in Sweden. At the department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, a guest lecture is being held to support that knowledge with real-life practices from Naturvårdsverket. Ecologist Matti Ermold will present climate change adaption and mitigation potential through wetland restoration in Sweden as well as give a brief overview about the work at Naturvårdsverket. The session will end with discussion, fika and an opportunity to ask questions from Matti.

Their versatility and cost-effectiveness make them an invaluable tool for geographers, enriching our understanding of the world.
Join SSGS on Tuesday the 10th of October for two interesting talks about the use of drones in geographical research! We have invited two guests: Veiko Lehsten from INES and Ibrahim Wahab from human geography. There will also be plenty of time for questions.
This event is open to all who are interested and membership in SSGS is not required. The event is free to attend and we will provide some sandwiches and alcohol-free drinks.
