The Torsten Hägerstrand's scholarship for current and recently graduated doctoral students will open again in autumn 2024. The scholarship comprises two grants of SEK 12 000 each, one for research within the field of human geography and one for physical geography.
The society provides funding for groups of students to be used for activities that are in line with the purpose of the Society, i.e. benefitting the field of geography. The purpose is to facilitate activities that normally are difficult to realize within the format of regular courses. It could, for example, be field work, excursions, or invitations of external guests.
The application is targeted towards third year bachelor students and master’s students at Lund University, studying human geography or physical geography.
The grant for 2024 has been awarded to three master's students at the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science: Lucija, Johanna and Lasse. Congratulations!
The next application round will open in spring 2025.
